Schon jetzt vielen Dank!!

Dear Triathletes,

2.
Green Hell Shorty – at the Nürburgring, there will also be a distance for beginners
3.    Race marshals for Jeschke & Friend’s events wanted!

1. Announcement: Questionnaire for economic impact analysis of the CTW

For many years now the Cologne Triathlon Weekend rates among the highlights of the sports-calendar in Cologne.  During that time it has evolved as one of the biggest triathlons in Germany and even Europe. For a divers number of reasons and for the continued existence of the CTW it is of decisive importance to estimate the economic effect and the added value of our events to the city of cologne. It is for that reason, that we have commissioned a research study at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences under the supervision of Mr. Prof. Dr. Matthias Fank to gather the needed information through a questionnaire. We will publish this questionnaire on our homepage and via our newsletter during the next week time. We urgently ask you for your support and cooperation already today. Within a maximum of 5 minutes the questionnaire will be answered and you would make an important contribution to the CTW. Among the participants of our questionnaire we will raffle 50 free slots for our events. Taking part is therefore also worth it for you! Thank very much already today.

2. Green Hell Shorty – at the Nürburgring, there will also be a distance for beginners

We are happily announcing, that after many inquiries we will now also offer a “Shorty” distance at the Nürburgring. With 500 meters swimming, 37 km biking (from the lake to Nürburgring plus half a round of the “Nordschleife”), and 5 km running (one round on the Grand-Prix-Course) we now also offer a distance for those, for whom the other distances are still too long or too hilly. As all other distances, the Green Hell Shorty will also be offered as a relay.

For the other distances of the Green Hell Triathlon on June 24, 2012 there are some tiny updates as well:

By now all course descriptions including vertical profiles are online. For the bike courses there have been slight adjustments due to measurement uncertainties. The Green Hell 226 half will be 99 km instead of 95 and the Green Hell Olympic will be 58 km instead of the communicated 53.

All course descriptions you can find here.

3. Race marshals for Jeschke & Friend’s events wanted!

A few weeks ago we already had announced that we are going to train an additional pool of race officers. Some interested parties already have reported but still we can offer a few apprenticeship places.

Therefore on February 14, 2012 at 06:30 p.m. we would like to invite all those interested to our head office - the Cologne two two six Cafè - which is located in Cologne's south part of town (Severinskirchplatz 12, 50678 Cologne). We will then introduce our race official certification program and discuss the future way of proceeding. Snacks and beverages will be served.

Some details in advance:

We are looking for dedicated triathletes who would like to join Jeschke & Friend's team of  contest judges. To acquire specific skills will take about two or three training sessions, which will be announced at the introductory meeting on February 14, 2012. You will have the chance to be on duty either at the Bike & Run Cologne on April 22, 2012, Swim & Run Cologne on June 17, 2012, Green Hell Triathlon on June 24, 2012 or Cologne Triathlon Weekend which takes place from August 31 to September 2, 2012. Naturally it is not mandatory to be present at all races. Expense allowance of about € 100,- per day will be payed.

We would really appreciate your support. Registration for introductury meeting ends February 10, 2012. For further information and registration please email to info@koeln-triathlon.de
